My first fully functional and playable Virtual Reality experience made with Unreal Engine 4.25. The Sanctuary VR is interactable and immersive way to explore forgotten and mysterious temple ruins from the comfort of your home.
As a school project was fun but also educational learning experience in many aspects of VR and game development in UE4. Project was also a good starting point for me to learn basics Unreal blueprints but also for honing my skills for cinematic rendering side of things without using any RTX/raytracing stuff.
Features and interactions:
- Teleportation
- Ability to grab and throw certain objects like stones from the ground
- 3D pause / main menu w/ ability to close the experience and option to launch FPS mode
- Cool looking boot sequence w/ UE logo
Target platform: Oculus Rift S w/ Touch Controllers but teleportation should work with any commercial VR headset.
3D assets used in the project are from Tropical Jungle Pack and Quixel Megascans.
